This is absolutely unreal. We did it. We reached our goal all thanks to YOU. Everyone of you who have supported and believed in what I do.  Honestly I’m speechless. This is just the beginning of the journey, but building The Boudoir is going to be the most amazing thing in the world and I can’t wait to start!!

Once again, I could NOT have done this without you guys.  Everyone who shared this with their facebook friends, everyone who pledged money…no matter how much, everyone who has taken the time to message me and tell me how much they appreciate what I do…YOU made this happen.  All the love and support is absolutely unreal, and it means the world to me.

I am so lucky to have the support of my parents, my brother, my Aunt Ronda, my amazing cousin Christian, and all of my INCREDIBLE friends! Thank you guys…I would not be where I am today without you. That’s the truth.

I cannot wait to show everyone what I do with The Boudoir. Myself and the rest of my amazing team are going to make women realize how amazing they are.

The love and support I have been receiving these past few weeks is unreal. Even those of you who are unable to pledge money, when you share my Facebook statuses and spread the word for me, you’re helping me tremendously. YOU are helping women realize how amazing they are. We are ALL taking one step toward changing how women view themselves. That one step is incredible. It’s absolutely amazing, and I honestly could not do it without all of you help.

I recently had a Boudoir Session with a (gorgeous) friend from college.  In the middle of our session (which was so incredible, I can’t wait to share a few in a couple weeks!!), she stopped and said, “Everyone needs to do this, Cheyenne. Everyone.”

I’ve said it a billion times. Yes, everyone DOES need to do this…but no matter how many times I say it, people don’t actually REALIZE it until they’re in front of the lens and feeling so absolutely incredible about themselves. It makes me emotional every single time I photograph a woman. When she begins to glow (which usually starts when she sees her hair and makeup done), and then we pick out her first outfit, and she’s super nervous but so so so willing to jump right in and pose, my heart wants to burst with happiness. And then when she’s really comfortable and I hardly have to help her pose anymore and she looks straight into that lens like she is the queen of the universe….That is truly an incredible thing to witness. I just watched a woman transform…and while yes, I have the camera in my hand and brought in the hair and makeup, etc., SHE DID IT ALL HERSELF. She’s the one who took the (sometimes terrifying) step of actually booking the session, and she’s the one who decided to show up to the session, and now she’s blowing me away with how incredible she is, and she’s glowing, and the laughs and smiles are REAL, and when she gives me those fierce, confident eyes, she is EMPOWERED.  I know that not everyone can really understand what I’m talking about and how I feel when I get to photograph these women, but it is SUCH a life changing experience. It’s absolutely every thing I live for.

The Boudoir (in case you haven’t heard) is the next step in taking my mission further. The environment in which you’re being photographed is SO important. If you’re not comfortable, then that’s going to show in your pictures. My family and I want to build, from the ground up, The Boudoir. It’s going to be a 12×24 foot room (not very big, just simple), with big windows that will let the sun stream in and give you a feeling of safety, security, and of course, empowerment. We need your help!! With the help of PolishedV  of Polished for Pennies, we have set up a Kickstarter project – we need to raise $5,000 by April 13th. If we do not reach our goal, we don’t get ANY of the money that was pledged to us. This is just the next step in my mission to help women realize their true beauty. Makeover March is all about taking extra steps to change a little for the better. Whether it’s trying something new with your hair and makeup, or committing to working out more and eating better to be healthy, this month is about progress!  It’s only fitting, then, that I announce the fact that Cheyenne Gil Photography is raising funds to take this journey of EMPOWERING women one step further. We are going to build The Boudoir.  The women I work with need a safe, comfortable space in which to be photographed.  We have 30 days to raise $5,000 – and if we don’t reach our goal, we don’t get any of the money that was pledged to us.   If you’re interested in helping support beauty & confidence in women, please visit my Kickstarter project, read all about it, and if want to help me empower women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and colors, feel free to donate.
